Our first meeting is an obligation free meeting during which we discuss the legal aspects of your marriage, your wishes for the ceremony, and how I can best work with you to ensure your ceremony is a perfect match for you both. It is an opportunity for me to get a sense of you, and for you to determine if I’m the right celebrant for you.
To secure your booking, a non-refundable booking fee is payable. Upon receipt of the booking fee, I send you a comprehensive resource kit, which gives you options for all aspects of your ceremony. I also email the questions to enable me to prepare your legal paperwork. (It makes it much easier for you, as all you need to do is check and sign it.)
Once I receive the information for the legal paperwork, we organize our next meeting date which is when you sign off on the Notice of Intended Marriage, and I sight your passports / birth certificates, photo ID and any other relevant information, ie. divorce certificates, death certificates. We then start working together on the details of your ceremony.
The ceremony is drafted, and worked on until perfect. At this time we communicate via email or phone as much as is necessary.
We meet again within a week or so of your wedding to go over the final details of your ceremony as well as complete the next legal document (a Statutory Declaration stating you are free to marry each other). Some couples choose to do this at an onsite Rehearsal; whereas others prefer to catch up informally. A Rehearsal has the benefit of easing nerves (we cover choreography details) and generating excitement; whereas some couples prefer to let it unfold organically on the day.
On your wedding day I arrive in plenty of time to ensure that everything runs smoothly and according to your plans. All you need to do is relax, enjoy the moment and focus on each other. I promise to take care of the rest for you.
