A sense of me

Outside of marrying people and hanging out with my tribe, my favourite thing is getting down and dirty in the garden! I also love chatting about all things books, podcasts, sewing and how to create the perfect compost heap or worm farm!!! Champagne (needs to be decent) is my favourite tipple, with Prosecco a close second. I’ve usually got music belting out… it could be mellow Jazz, blues, blue grass or classical, however I do have some secret shames (suffice to say Mandy Patinkin belting out a show tune is my idea of heaven!!)

But back to why you are here… I absolutely love being part of a fabulous ceremony that sets the tone for the celebrations that follow!

Boring, cheesy ceremonies drive me crazy!!  We’ve all been to those weddings where the prospect of the bar opening is the thing that sustains you through an excruciating half hour! It is SO boring listening to the celebrant banging on about generic and schmaltzy ‘two hearts beating as one’ stuff. That’s not what you want, and that’s not what you’ll get from me. Your ceremony should absolutely reflect you. And if this means your guests are moved to cheer, whoop and holler; cry through your vows; laugh uproariously at your more quirky characteristics; perhaps even stand up and talk about you – then all the better. Whatever your thing, your guests deserve to be entertained and enthralled during your ceremony. Read more testimonials here.

“Felicity, we can’t thank you enough for your fantastic work on our wedding, including the lead up to the day. You were organised and professional from the very beginning, making all that paperwork and planning a lot more palatable!
We really appreciate that you took the time to get to know us from day one – you learnt about us as individuals, as well as how we work together as a couple. This made for a truly authentic ceremony and a genuine celebration of our relationship. We’ve had so many compliments from our guests on how fun and relaxed the ceremony was (which was what we requested), and how amazing you were. You definitely set the tone for a fun reception too – it was nothing but good vibes really! We will continue to highly recommend you to others.”

So, what can I bring to your ceremony, and why should you choose me as your celebrant?

Well, I do know how to create a ceremony that will perfectly reflect you, your values, beliefs and quirks. I’m good at story telling, and I will share your story in a way that truly captivates your guests, instilling a sense of love, magic and humour, whilst never losing sight of the serious commitment you are making. My celebrant style is calm, natural and warm, and I am well presented and extremely professional. My favourite ceremonies are relaxed, heartfelt, funny and perhaps a tad quirky if that fits your style. I take considerable time to get to know and understand you, as this really is what separates a truly memorable ceremony from a ho-hum one. One of my couples summed it up nicely: Thank you for taking so much time to get all the details right, to revise and carefully draft the ceremony for us, and to really get to know us before the wedding.  On the day it truly felt as if a dear friend was performing the ceremony for us.If you think I could be the one for you, we should chat about your requirements (obligation free). I’m based in Northcote, and regularly go to Rye on the Mornington Peninsula, so I can meet up with you at my place, at yours (if relatively close by), or somewhere in between. Don’t hesitate to contact me for an initial phone chat to see if you like the cut of my jib! Check out the FAQ for more info about me.
